How to Choose an Electrolyte Drink Mix in India

There are more electrolyte powders, sachets, tablets and hydration drinks in India than ever. The right choice depends on why you are using one, what is actually in the formula and whether you will enjoy drinking it consistently.

1. Start with the use case

Think about whether you want a drink for everyday hydration, workouts, long travel days, hot weather or another specific occasion. Different situations can call for different formulations.

2. Read the electrolyte panel

Look for the actual amounts of sodium, potassium, magnesium and other electrolytes rather than relying only on phrases such as “electrolyte rich”.

3. Check sugar and sweeteners

If you want a zero-added-sugar hydration drink, check the full ingredient and nutrition panel. Sweeteners can vary significantly between products.

4. Check serving size and mixing instructions

Compare the amount of water each serving is designed for. A stick that is intended for 250–300 ml is not directly comparable with one designed for a larger bottle.

5. Choose a flavour you will actually drink

Hydration is a habit. If you prefer familiar Indian flavours, SALTD offers Banta Lime Spark, Kala Khatta and Peach Himalayan electrolyte drink mixes.

6. Remember that ORS is different

Do not choose a commercial electrolyte drink simply because it sounds similar to ORS. ORS is a specific medical rehydration formulation. SALTD is an everyday electrolyte drink mix and is not ORS.
